How do you get users to engage in the community?

Great question. The trick is to make participation feel valuable, safe, and easy. Start with warm invitations. Personally invite small groups of users who are already engaged (power users, beta testers), have recently interacted with support or have given product feedback. Be present & responsive. Early on, staff participation is crucial. Have your team engage in discussions (thank people for posting, answer questions quickly, keep threads moving, invite other users into relevant discussions). This shows the community is alive and signals it’s safe to participate. Leverage in-product nudges. Add links or widgets inside your product UI, for example: “Need help? Check the community” or “Discuss this feature with other users”. Surface community discussions related to the page or feature a user is viewing. Suggest community discussions in conversations with customer support. Host AMAs. Let users ask your team anything. Feature success stories from other users and let them answer questions from the community via an AMA session.
